Janus Vaten is committed to making its processes and products more sustainable and invests in lasting relationships with its partners and clients. We consider the recycling and reuse of industrial packaging important. In addition, one of the challenges is to carry out all processes with the lowest possible energy consumption, a minimum amount of residual waste, and as few air and water emissions as possible. To further reduce carbon footprint, we use solar panels to supply green electricity for our production processes. We are also involved in optimal metal and plastic recycling.

Steel reconditioned drums compared with new

Reconditioning one barrel instead of producing a new one results in approximately 30 kg CO2 savings. This is equivalent to driving a passenger car for approximately 250 km. Janus Vaten heeft in 2019 25.9 miljoen kg CO2 bespaard. That is 215 million kilometres, That is more than 5000 times around the earth.

Environment

The impact on our environment

It has been shown that the reuse of packaging is less harmful to the environment, as it is less CO2-intensive than the use of new packaging and recycling. Employees are involved in the Lean Manufacturing System, aimed at reducing waste during production. Janus Vaten is FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 50001 en 14001 certified.

Closing the cycle

What we do with plastic and metal

To complete the circle, packaging is recycled sustainably at the end of its life cycle, to turn the raw materials into new industrial packaging. We do this with various partners for both steel and plastic packaging, all of us helping to reduce CO2. The recycling of metal and plastic contributes to a cleaner world.
